Elizabeth J. Toncer

LEWISTON – Elizabeth J. Toncer, 97, a former resident of Lewiston, passed away peacefully Saturday morning, Oct. 9, 2021 at Orchard Park Nursing Home in Farmington. She was born May 22, 1924 in Livermore, the daughter of Andrew Toncer and Anna (Semancik) Toncer.

Elizabeth was a 1942 graduate of Livermore Falls High School. She worked in the shipping department at Bates Manufacturing in Lewiston for over 40 years. Elizabeth was a former communicant of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Lewiston. In her younger years, Elizabeth was an avid skater and skier and she loved spending time with her family, especially her twin sister, Marion.

She is survived by her nieces Vicki Wright of Auburn, Joy Toncer and husband John Lord of Lisbon Falls, Jayne Toncer of Jay, nephews, Thomas Constantine and wife Kathy of Auburn and Peter Richards and wife Patti of Canton; eight great-nieces; one great-great-niece and three great-great nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings, Joseph Toncer, Margaret Wilson, Dolores Richards, Ann Constantine and her twin sister Marion Toncer, and more recently by her niece, Ann Constantine, in 2020. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 15, at ST. ROSE OF LIMA CHURCH, 1 Church Street, Jay, Maine. Visiting hours will be from 4-6 p.m. on Thursday, Oct.14, at FINLEY FUNERAL HOME, 15 Church Street, Livermore Falls, Maine. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery, 445 Park Street, Livermore Falls, Maine.
