LEWISTON — The Lewiston Police Department was investigating reports Sunday of a stabbing Saturday night on Pierce Street, according to interim Chief David St. Pierre.
Pierre said Sunday evening detectives and officers were still determining where the incident took place.
“It appears as though the victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries as the result of what appears to be a stab wound,” St. Pierre wrote in an email. “We are trying to identify and locate witnesses that may be able to provide an accurate account of what took place and who is responsible for causing the victim’s injuries.”
No arrests related to the incident had been made as of Sunday night.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
