Why do you think you’re the most qualified, or best candidate for this seat?

I have been actively involved within the city, for over 30 years, which includes working with school, zoning and planning boards. I have also been a business owner in downtown Lewiston, which has given me a unique perspective of the city.

Please name two issues that you believe are critical to Lewiston’s future, and how you would address them.

Taxes are one of the largest issues facing landlords and homeowners. I believe we must be fiscally responsible, now, more than ever before. I will work with other members of the council to address this issue by encouraging commercial development and by streamlining its application process. The second issue is in personal attacks that have been used when opposing opinion is given. I would like to encourage that we can agree to disagree, yet remain respectful and kind, especially when dealing with opposing thoughts.

Do you support the New England Clean Energy Connect transmission line project? Why or why not?

I do support this project. Hydropower is far more effective than wind and solar. Lewiston will also become one of its largest benefactors, with increased property tax, due to the expansion of CMP’s transmission station. This will generate millions of dollars in increased revenue for our city.
