Hundreds of costumed youths made the rounds in Oxford Hills on Halloween, visiting houses, businesses and nursing homes to receive treats Thursday. Fifteen hundred bags of candy were filled for trick-or-treaters at Norway Convalescent Center. The nursing home’s annual Haunted House and Trick or Treat Lane brought in 98 youngsters during the first half hour and by 7:30 p.m. 194 kids had signed the guest book. Activities Director Lynne Wheeler said 1,500 bags of candy were filled for the residents to hand out in their rooms and after it was gone they popped corn to distribute. The Haunted House was designed and decorated by the Oxford Hills High School Key Club. The “haunters” were sisters Katrina and Melissa Harmon as doctor and patient  respectively, and John Parsons as Count Dracula. In South Paris, a community children’s Halloween party was held at the Foster-Carroll American Legion Hall by Post 72 and the Auxiliary with assistance from the Paris Police Explorers.
