Pamela A. Cox
OXFORD – Pamela A. Cox, age 61, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family and friends on October 27th, 2021 after her third courageous battle with cancer.
She was born at Stephens Memorial Hospital in Norway, Maine on May 11, 1960, daughter of Herb and Eula Felker of Poland Maine. She grew up in Poland, where she attended Poland Community school through grade eight and then Oxford Hills High School, graduating in 1979. Growing up Pam always loved family gatherings and getting together with her friends.
Pam worked at Robinson Manufacturing in Oxford for 21 years until it closed. She then pursued a new adventure; opening a daycare in her home, Greeley Brook Daycare. For 19 years she put her heart and soul into caring for children of all ages. She always enjoyed teaching preschool and doing crafts with her daycare kids. After retiring from being a daycare provider in 2018, she went on to work part time at Hannaford in the deli department where she was lovingly nicknamed, “Pamalam,” a nickname that will stick for years to come.
On July 4, 2001, Pam married the absolute love of her life, Wayne A. Cox. In 1998 they had a son Tyler Cox, who was her pride and joy. She always enjoyed watching Tyler play soccer and baseball during his younger years and enjoyed watching and hearing about all of his adventures in car racing as he got older. When Tyler no longer played sports, she joined the Oxford Baseball Association where she enjoyed working the snack shack at Pismo Beach for eight years.
In her free time, Pam enjoyed watching racing, the Red Sox, sewing, crocheting, Stampin Up, crafts of all kinds and baking. Although she would admit that she did not know much about music, she always enjoyed it. She looked forward to going to music “gigs” with her husband and loved watching him play the drums in the bands he has been a part of over the years. She often could be found line-dancing with her friends. Most recently, she found joy in watching her son Tyler play both the drums and learn to play the pedal steel guitar.
She was predeceased by her parents, Herb and Eula Felker; her sister Paula Felker; her mother-in-law Marjorie Collomb, father-in-law Kenneth Cox; brother-in-law Kenneth Cox Jr.; and many aunts and uncles. She is survived by her loving husband, Wayne Cox and her son Tyler Cox, both of Oxford, her step-daughter Wendy Noble and her husband Travis Noble and granddaughter, Sophia Noble of Harrison; brother Paul Felker (AKA Hummer) of Oxford, sisters-in-law, Denise Donnellan of Otisfield and Darlene Taylor of Melbourne, Fla., brothers-in-law Stephen Cox of Sanford, Brian Morrill of Waterford and Leslie Cox of Melbourne Fla.; stepmother Arlene Cox of Melbourne Fla.; and many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.
During her last days with us here on earth, Pam asked that a special thank you was extended to Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice, especially her primary nurse Paulette and nursing assistant, Hannah, to her husband Wayne, son Tyler, her special niece Kristina, and to the other family and friends who supported and provided care to her and her family over the last few months.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, Nov. 13 at 1 p.m. at Highland Cemetery in West Poland.
