A cold front will bring rain and wind across Maine on Friday.

After a sunny and seasonable Veterans Day, clouds will thicken overnight. Most of us will wake up to showers Friday morning.

The total precipitation expected from the cold front passing tomorrow ranges from half an inch to 1.75 inches with the most falling in the mountains and southeast towards the coast.

At the coast, winds will increase during the afternoon. Some gusts between 30 mph and 40 mph are likely. Inland, the winds could reach 30 mph. The core of the winds will shift Friday evening closer to Downeast Maine. The rain will taper off in Portland and points west around 7 p.m.

Improved weather expected overnight across Maine. Saturday will be brighter and temperatures should get a boost into the middle 50s. A quick round of rain and mountain snow is likely Saturday night.
