ORONO — The 2021 University of Maine senior art exhibition is scheduled to open Friday, Nov. 19, in Lord Hall.
It features more than 60 works by 10 students.
“Overture” includes paintings, prints, drawings, sculptures, digital artworks and mixed media pieces by seniors in a studio art class led by professor of art James Linehan.
As part of the class, the students plan and install the annual exhibition — from matting, framing and hanging their works, to labeling and lighting the pieces.
Participating artists include Sami Burell of North Yarmouth and Pownal, Delaney Burns of Gorham, Andrew Dean of Bath, Caitlin Fraser of Brewer, Caleb Harper of Madison, Braydon Kneeland of Bangor, Sarah Lafontaine of Greene, Haley Santerre of West Gardiner, Sabrina Sudol, Ramsey of New Jersey, and Liz Walsh of Benton.
The opening reception is from 5 to 7 p.m. Nov. 19. Lord Gallery at 101 Munson Road is open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
