Norway Lakeside Tree

NORWAY — Lakeside Norway, Pleasant Hill Property Services, and Norway Brewing are teaming up with the Cancer Resource Center of Western Maine (CRCofWM) for a Tree Lighting and Caroling to honor those in our lives and those who have passed on Saturday, December 11, 6-7 p.m., at The Tree at Lakeside Norway’ a lone spruce tree in the field on the old CB Cummings Landing on Route 118 in Norway. Local musician, Dave Knightly, will lead everyone in a round of holiday songs. Hot chocolate and cider will be provided courtesy of Norway Brewing. This is really the first of what we hope will be many years of holiday tree lighting and caroling,” said Jason Shiers, owner of Pleasant Hill and President of Lakeside Norway. “We are glad to help raise funds for CRCofWM since cancer affects us all—directly or indirectly. It is important that we fight together, celebrate life together, and enjoy the holidays together!”

For a $10 donation, a handmade birch ornament will be personalized by theCRCofWM and then placed on The Tree at Lakeside Norway’ before December 11.  “This is a wonderful way to honor a loved one, remember anyone who has passed, or send a bit of holiday cheer from you or your family,” said Diane Madden, executive director of the CRCofWM.  It has been a tough year for many and we are excited to work with Lakeside Norway, Pleasant Hill, and Norway Brewing Company to create a new meaningful community tradition.  100% of the proceeds from the ornament sale will go directly to support the needs of cancer patients and survivors in Oxford county and its surrounding towns. For any person being honored or remembered that is or was impacted by cancer, a pink (breast cancer) or purple (denotes all other cancers) ribbon is available to be added to the ornament.

Ornaments can be ordered online at www.crcofwm.org or in-person (with cash or a check) at the CRCofWM, at 59 Winter Street, Norway, on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10-2 pm.
