Maurice “Moe” Allen

MEXICO – Maurice “Moe” Allen, 87, died Friday Nov. 26, 2021 at his residence on Swett Avenue in Mexico.

Born in Mexico on August 14, 1934, he was a son of Louis and Vera (Anderson) Allen. He was a graduate of Mexico High School and served in the U.S. Army from 1956 to 1958.

Moe worked as a lab technician for Boise Cascade Paper Mill in Rumford until his retirement. He enjoyed his ’51 Oldsmobile, his daily rounds to Dick’s for breakfast to meet his brother-in-law, Paul Langevin, for a coffee, Zinck’s, as well as trips to Hannaford, Wal-Mart, Naples and Carlisle’s.

Moe was married in Rumford on Sept. 28, 1957 to Clara Langevin who survives of Mexico. Other survivors include his sons, Arthur and his wife Karen of Peru, Dan of Mexico and Matthew of Delaware, his daughter, Deborah Allen of Mexico; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by a daughter, Lynn-Marie and a son, Mark.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Friday Dec. 3 at the Parish of the Holy Savior St. Athanasius St. John Church, 126 Maine Ave., Rumford. Interment in the spring will be in St. John Cemetery, Rumford. Arrangements are under the direction of the Meader and Son Funeral Home, 3 Franklin St., Rumford.
