Patricia Greeley of the Danville Union Church fills boxes for the Shoebox Project. Contributed photo

Danville Union Church has a small congregation, but the church is filled with very big hearts.

During this Thanksgiving season, eight grocery bags of nonperishable food were collected and delivered to Hope Haven Gospel Mission, along with a check for $100.

Members also collected small toys, school supplies and hygiene items for the Shoebox Project, headed up by Patricia Greeley. Fourteen of these boxes were filled, and they will be sent to children all over the world.

All are welcome to attend the nondenominational Danville Union Church for worship with Pastor Dodi Knights at 9:30 a.m. Sundays.

For more information, contact Glenys Ryder, a member of the church, at 207-783-6897.
