Claudette (Bellmore) Dingley

AUBURN – Claudette (Bellmore) Dingley, 63, of Auburn passed away Sunday Nov. 28, 2021, suddenly at her home.

Claudette was born on May 23, 1958, she was the daughter of Leon and Rita Lacasse Bellmore. She grew up in Auburn and attended local schools. She later married Peter Dingley and spent an adventurous time in the Bahamas and cruising up and down the east coast in Peter’s boat. She loved the water; diving, snorkeling, fishing with Peter and spotting turtles (she loved turtles). In 1981 while visiting Maine, she won the Maine state Windsurfing championship. Claudette also enjoyed riding her 650 Yamaha motorcycle, helping Peter with their business, and doing some glamping with her friends.

After returning to Maine with Peter, she found peace in the woods and along the Lake Auburn shoreline, sitting by the rocks usually with a dog by her side that was special to her- a time for solitude and reflection. Occasionally she would join Peter on aerial adventures in his plane.

Claudette had a really big heart and loved her family, especially Peter and her daughter Kristen, her two grandchildren, and her dogs. Like her mom and siblings she also enjoyed tending to her home, making it both comfortable and functional. It was not unusual to find candles lit during the day.

Claudette also spent time visiting her sisters and could often be found sharing raucous laughter with Suzanne. Those two could have been on stage as they were ridiculously funny.

Claudette and Peter were not done exploring. They planned on getting an RV and touring places they hadn’t seen and chasing the sunshine along the way. In the end Claudette left this earth too soon but she is not leaving us. She will remain in our hearts, our memories and in all she leaves behind. Blessed be youngest sister, wife, mother, and friend. May your new journey continue to be an adventure.

Claudette is survived by her husband Peter of 40 plus years, her daughter Kristen and husband Casey Herring, and two grandchildren Kayden and Cole, her brother Roger and his wife Lily Bellmore of Woolwich, Richard (Dicky) Bellmore of Auburn, her sisters Judie Murphy and husband Richard Jacques of Farmington and Suzanne Bellmore of Turner.

She was predeceased by her parents and sisters Nancy Duchesneau and Arlene White.
