DEAR SUN SPOTS: I was in an accident recently at the intersection of routes 11 and 219 in Minot. I was unable to get the names of everyone who came to my aid but I wanted to thank them all for being so compassionate and not hesitating to help. A special thank you to Detective McNally, Jonathan who let me sit in his truck to keep me warm, and to Maria who was traveling behind me and made sure I was okay before she left to pick up her son. Thank you all for your kindness and concern. — Shari, no town

ANSWER: It’s so scary when this happens and it’s also amazing how people rise to help in the wake of a catastrophe. I was involved in an auto accident a couple years ago and I have never forgotten how people swooped in and surrounded me with their caring concern and offered me all the things I needed.

I hope you’re doing okay and that everyone who was with you that night reads your thank you note. I wish you well.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: Thank you sincerely for doing all that work to answer my Time and Temperature question (Dec. 1 Sun Spots). I now have a new number to try.

The one Time and Temperature phone number I miss being able to call is the local number: 786-2411. It is a number I have called for over 30 plus years. — Belinda, no town

ANSWER: That was the Lewiston number you could dial from anywhere, anytime, to get the date, current time, and outdoor temperature. It was an important number, and if you stayed on the line, you could even talk with a real person but that feature was disabled a few years ago. Now, the number you have called for so long just rings.
