Janice Fletcher Soucy

AUBURN – Janice Fletcher Soucy, 93, passed away peacefully on Dec. 2, 2021 at Clover Health Care into the open arms of her Heavenly Father.

Janice was born in Lewiston on Sept. 10, 1928, the daughter of Maxine Bearce Fletcher and Harold A. Fletcher. She graduated from Edward Little High School with the Class of 1946 where she was a cheerleader and a vocalist with the Dance Band. While raising her three children, she attended Auburn Maine School of Commerce, later working in various secretarial roles. She became an active Real Estate Broker, was president of the Androscoggin Board of Realtors, and worked as a secretary for Morton Buildings, Inc.

Janice loved her family dearly and was a very thoughtful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved the Christmas season and made special gifts for them. Her fondest childhood memories are times spent with her Bearce family at the Wallis Sands Beach cottage in Rye, NH.

Upon moving to Turner, Janice became a member of the Turner Village Church, treasuring many dear friendships and sharing her musical talent singing in the choir. She loved her dogs Daisy and Missy who joined her on many rides around Lake Auburn and the Turner countryside to view sunsets.

She will be sadly missed by her three children, Bonnie Lynn Lash (Neil), John A. Maloney (Connie), and Joseph P. Maloney Jr. (Valerie); her grandchildren, Scott, Matthew (Betsy), Cheryl Stone, Robert Lash, Matthew Maloney (Kayla Quesnel), Heather Maloney (Duane Pepin) and Bill Redmun; her great-grandchildren, Gage and Calvin Lash, Abigail and Gabriel Lash, Edwin Stone, Elijah and Alexander Lash, Emily and AJ Redmun; along with her half-brothers, Larry Fletcher, Don Fletcher and their spouses; and her nieces Doreen Boutilier-Ginchereau and Mary Lou Boutilier-Rowe.

She was predeceased by her parents; her sister, Alice Boutilier; and nephews, Mike, Dennis and Timothy Boutilier..

Janice’s family wishes to thank her many caregivers at Clover Health Care for their kindness, patience and thoughtfulness during her stay there.

A private memorial service will be held at the Turner Village Church on December 11th. Interment will be in the Spring at the Bearce Family Lot at Mount Auburn Cemetery, Auburn, Maine.
