Mildred ‘Midge’ Arseneau

ILLINOIS – Mildred ‘Midge’ Arseneau, 91, of Illinois, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2021, at Griggsville Estates in Griggsville, Ill. She was born on Dec. 17, 1929, in Pittsfield, Ill., to George and Sadie Turnbaugh Hillman. She married Orville Werts and to this union a son was born, Wayne Werts.She worked at First National Bank for many years, this is where she met her husband Richard Arseneau. They were married 53 years, and to this union a daughter was born, Renae Arseneau Hayes.In 1970 they were transferred to Lewiston, Maine and in 1980 to Lees Summit, Missouri. Most of her career was in banking. In 1980 she went to work in medical insurance at Lees Summit Clinic, retiring in 1993.She was a member of Lees Summit Bible Church and loved to talk about the Lord and the bible. She was a member of Shepherds Center for many years, where she enjoyed teaching the bible. She always tried to reach out and help those in need. She will be dearly missed by many.Midge is survived by son, Wayne (Debra) Werts; daughter, Renae (Kevin) Hayes; three grandchildren, Joshua Torbert, Samantha Torbert and Anthony Torbert; several great grandchildren; sister, Emma Knoth; and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Sadie Hillman; husband, Richard Arseneau; four brothers, Emmet Hillman, Ivan Hillman, Harold Hillman and Don Hillman; and sister, Judy Boren.Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2021, at 11 a.m., at Niebur Funeral Home in Pittsfield, Ill., with interment following the service at West Cemetery in Pittsfield. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 10-11 a.m., at the funeral home.Online condolences may be left to the family at http://www.nieburfh.com.
