Season outlook: The Red Eddies are looking for Kaelyn Langlois to be a top-10 contender in the KVAC conference and state championships. The boys team is young, but hopes to contend for conference and state titles.

Season outlook: Leavitt is looking at Austin Gates, Lilly Anctil and Sophie Simard to be top-10 contenders in the conference and state championships.
MARANACOOK/WINTHROP BLACK BEARS

Returning athletes: Boys: Seniors — Sam McKee, Dylan McGarr, Alex Clark, Aiden Guimond. Girls: Seniors — Anna Erb, Ella Delisle, Ella Trefethan, Meghan Mahone; Sophomores — Maggie Morrill, Anna Albert, Sage Whitehead.
Key losses: Michael Tamborini, Andrew Dupuy, Lexi Delisle, Anna Roberge, Kaite Sechrist.
Promising newcomers: Boys: Senior — Thomas Clause; Sophomores — Bailey Shink, Tanner Sirois, Rocko Scott; Freshmen — Thatcher Riley, Josh Adams, Micah Sealsberry, Ben Jewett, Adam Ellis, Tayton Van Winkle, Jackson August, William Grant. Season outlook: Overall numbers are up as the boys and girls teams have a number of new athletes who are strong, talented and eager. Spirit is high, and both teams should be competitive.
MT. BLUE COUGARS
Coach: Mark Cyr (18 years)
Conference: KVAC; Class: A
Last year’s results: The boys and girls placed first at KVAC championships.
Returning athletes: Boys: Seniors — Sam Goodspeed, Ashton Beaudoin, Josh Smith; Junior — Dylan Farmer; Sophomores — Jackson Hardy, Trent Beaudoin. Girls: Seniors — Sadie McDonough, Khloe Dean; Juniors — Molly Kearing, Vivian Cormier; Sophomores — Katie Yeaton, Abbey Goodspeed, Ashlynn Dailey.
Key losses: Xander Gurney, Jack Kearing
Promising newcomers: Brody Farmer, Maddie Keller, Maddie Morton.
Season outlook: The Cougars have not seen any of the southern teams for two years and are not sure what to expect at the state championships. The last time Maine held Alpine state championships, the girls won the title and the Mt. Blue boys finished second to Falmouth. The girls are hopeful that they can continue with their winning and the boys can start a new winning streak.
RANGELEY LAKERS

Conference: KVAC/MVC; Class: B
Last year’s results: MVC champions.
Returning athletes: Seniors — Bristol Quimby, Mya Laliberti, Emma Ray Macfawn; Junior — Amelia Stokes; Sophomores — Breezy Quimby, Avery Flewelling, Jaxsyn Haley; Freshman — Natalie Stokes.
Key loss: Autumn Williams.
Season outlook: The Lakers are anticipating a strong season in conference and at the Class B state championship.
