Season outlook: Scott Morrison is excited that the team’s student-athletes have an opportunity to swim in the pool and face opponents this season. The girls’ team will be led by Kora Martel, Mya Vincent, Jalee Boucher and Samantha Deblois, along with freshmen Ashlyn Holbrook and Afia Kavi. Morrison expects the girls will be competitive with most of the KVAC swim league opponents this season and will earn valuable points at the Class A state meet. The EL/Leavitt boys will be led by Andrew Casares, Gavin Holbrook, Isaac Raymond, Paul Dimitri and newcomers Chase Leonardo, Bjorn Sandberg, Leif Walker, Simon Bolduc and Gage Smith. The boys will be a top KVAC team and will finish in the top 10 at the state meet, according to Morrison.

GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER PATRIOTS

Promising newcomer: Boys: Ian Scott.
Season outlook: Gray-New Gloucester has occasionally entered a swimmer or diver into the mix from time to time through the years. Lone Patriots swimmer Ian Scott will be hoping to qualify for several state meet events and earn points for Gray-New Gloucester.

HEBRON ACADEMY LUMBERJACKS

Returning athlete: Boys: Senior — Ethan Frumiento.
Promising newcomer: Girls: Freshman — Emma Frumiento.
Season outlook: Two years ago, Ethan Frumiento finished 16th in the 500 freestyle, earning Hebron’s first points in a Class A State meet in more than 20 years. Both Ethan and Emma Frumiento will look to qualify for multiple state meet events and hope to score in the top 16 of their events.

LEWISTON BLUE DEVILS

Returning athletes: Boys: Sophomore — Gavin Bavis; Girls: Seniors — Libby Forgues, Emily Fournier, Teliah Viscone; Juniors — Emily Bilodeau, Gabrielle Gladu, Amber Landry, Bri Letourneau; Sophomores — Madeline Cote, Madison Freeman, Mackenzie Garcia, Fiona Landry.
Key losses: Emma Hawley, Alex Akers, Caleb Suli.
Promising newcomers: Boys: Freshman — Mason Scardoni; Girls: Freshmen — Chloe Tremblay, Taylor Jean, Addison Bilodeau.
Season outlook: Lewiston has suffered a few key losses over the last few years as top swimmers have graduated. Yet the team has retained a core group of very strong and developing athletes. Coach Troy Boutin expects Gavin Bavis to qualify for states in every event and go into states in the top six in several events. Libby Forgues, Emily Bilodeau, Gabrielle Gladu, Maddy Cote and newcomers Chloe Trembley and Addison Bilodeau are on track to qualify for states on the girls’ side. This season, the team added assistant coach Machaela Howatt, who brings the swimming instruction experience needed to help the team’s newest swimmers improve and achieve their goals.

LISBON GREYHOUNDS
Coach: Scott Morrison (13 years, intermittently)
Class: A
Last year’s results: N/A
Returning athletes: Girls: Junior — Loressa Potvin; Sophomore — Lilah Bright.
Key loss: Garrett Perron
Season outlook: Lilah Bright and Loressa Potvin hope to improve on their times from last year and qualify for the state meet, according to coach Scott Morrison. They both swim a variety of events and will get to team up with some other individual swimmers that Morrison coaches to form unofficial relays.

OXFORD HILLS VIKINGS

Conference: KVAC; Class: A
Last year’s results: N/A
Returning athlete: Girls: Senior — Emily Cummings.
Promising newcomer: Girls: Michaela Holbrook.
Season outlook: Emily Cummings is entering her third year of high school swimming and will continue to swim sprint freestyle and the back and breaststroke events. Emily and Michaela Holbrook will represent Oxford Hills at the KVAC swim championships.

POLAND KNIGHTS

Promising newcomers: Boys: Freshman — Cameron Lemieux.
Season outlook: Scott Morrison believes Cameron Lemieux is Poland’s first high school swimmer in Maine Principals’ Association competition. Lemieux will look to qualify for several state meet events and score Poland’s first points.

ST. DOMINIC ACADEMY SAINTS

Key loss: Natalia Russell.
Promising newcomers: Boys: Senior — Samuel Burnham; Freshmen — Brockton Morissette, Joshua Parenteau, Daniel Burnham.
Season outlook: The Saints will be looking to improve on their times and have several swimmers qualify for the state meet in individual events this season. St. Dom’s will be able to field boys relays this season, and according to coach Scott Morrison, it has been a few years since that occurred.
