Donald “Don” J. Rainville

LEWISTON – Donald “Don” J. Rainville, 67, passed away peacefully on Dec. 8, 2021 with his family by his side at CMMC following complications from a bacterial pneumonia infection.

Don was born in Lewiston to Norman and Doris Rainville on March 10, 1954. He graduated from Lewiston High School in 1972 and attended New Hampshire Technical Institute.

On Feb. 26, 1982 he married his best friend and soul mate Victoria Harmon, and together continued to live in Lewiston and raise their family.

Don worked at his family’s steel fabrication business, N.C. Rainville Co. until 1986. From then, until his retirement in 2016, Don worked at Bath Iron Works where he was known for his expertise in steel fabrication.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his two brothers, Daniel and David Rainville.

Surviving Don is his wife of 39 years, Victoria; his three children, sons, Benjamin Rainville of Salt Lake City, Christopher Rainville and wife Francesca of Chesapeake, Va., daughter, Jennifer (Rainville) and husband Aaron Jolicoeur of Scarborough; sisters Christine (Rainville) Marshall and husband Allan, Jane (Rainville) Ganota and husband Charles, Patricia (Rainville) Prince and husband David, all from Exeter, N.H.

Don was known as “Pa” to his two greatest gifts, his grandchildren Desmond and Rayna Jolicoeur.

Per Don’s request there will be no visitation or funeral. A private family celebration of his life will be held this summer in Key West, Fla.
