100 Years Ago: 1921

A new adding machine has been added to the equipment of the commercial course of the Jordan High School. It is proving to be a great adjunct by way of preparation to the students, and is very satisfactory on account of its simplicity.

50 Years Ago: 1971

Taber’s, a popular summer takeout food and recreation area on Auburn’s Lake Shore Drive, will be demolished and a new business establishment, about the same size, will be erected in its place. According to a permit issued by Auburn Building Inspector Ralph E. Emery. the owner, Laurent J. Barriault plans to replace the wooden building with a concrete structure – 24 feet by 34 feet, costing $8,000. Taber’s will continue to offer strictly a take-out service. The new stand is expected to be ready for Spring opening.

25 Years Ago: 1996

The children in the Little Stars Preschool and Daycare in Wales prepared a traditional holiday meal for their parents. The children worked on the meal all morning and invited their parents to come and enjoy it. The children are, lan Bouffard, Lauren Beaudoin, Adam St. Pierre, Joshua Prue, Abby Goulet and Katlin Dubois. The children were helped by Marie Beaulieu, owner of Little Stars Preschool.
