Wilfred Eleude Laplante
LIVERMORE FALLS – The band was calling for Wilfred Eleude Laplante “Willie”, 89, of Livermore Falls to his heavenly home as he passed away unexpectedly and quickly on Friday, Dec. 10, 2021 at his residence.
He was born April 26, 1932 in Mexico, the son of Alphonse Laplante and Aldea (Michaud) Laplante. On June 8, 1963 he married Suzuko Hiraoka of Japan. He retired, 30 years, as a state certified security guard for the International Paper Company; he was a member of the International Paper Company Quarter Century Club.
He sang and played lead guitar in the band at the Jay V.F.W. Post #3335 on Friday nights for over 19 years. He also volunteered for many musical events with his friends from the V.F.W. Pa would drive to the coast to help out the Tripps when they owned Sonny’s Seafood. Wilfred loved playing music, his most cherished times were when he sang beside his brothers and sisters; he was a very gifted woodworker, donating many models of boats, birdhouses, and even cremation urns. Winning several blue ribbons at the Farmington Fair for many years. He was a self-taught fix it kind of guy, who was a helper to all extents when someone needed a hand. No task was too big or too small for him to tackle and adapt to new things, even with two less fingers.
He is survived by his wife Suzie Laplante; daughters Darlene Edmond (Alan), and Chrystal Tripp (Michael), his son, Wilfred Laplante Jr., stepchildren Joyce Bryant (Terry) and William Spiller; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren; brother, Raoul Laplante (Marsha) and sister, Gertrude Richards.
He was predeceased by his parents; his siblings Robert, Norman, Emile, Renee, Beatrice, Antoinette, Olivette, and Pauline. A heart filled thank you for the First responders, Fire Rescue and to the neighbors across the street (Bobby, and Valerie Martin); for them we couldn’t be more thankful.
