Peggy Elliott

RUMFORD – Mrs. Peggy Elliott, 64, died Sunday Dec. 12, 2021 at the Rumford Hospital. She was a resident of Richards Avenue in Mexico.Born in Rumford, on Sept. 4, 1957, she was a daughter of Wilfred and Gloria (Touchette) Hamel Jr. Peggy was a graduate of Mexico High School and worked as a machine operator for JA Thurston Mill. Peggy loved gardening, crafts and most important was spending time with her grandchildren and family. She was married in Rumford, on Sept. 10, 1977, to Brian Elliott who survives of Mexico.Other survivors include her daughter Jenny Elliott and companion Gabe Pitts of Mexico; grandchildren, Sylvia Raine Pitts and Braydin Kole Pitts of Mexico; brothers, Fred Hamel and wife Sue of Peru, Tim Hamel of Roxbury, Daniel Hamel and wife Corrine of Turner, Wayne Hamel and wife Linda of Roxbury, Jerry Hamel and wife Angela of Rumford, Ross Hamel of Rumford; a sister Terri Starbird and husband Glenn of Mexico.She was predeceased by her brother Paul Hamel.
