Penobscot Theatre Company and ImprovAcadia recently announced the latest show in their ongoing partnership — Auld Lang Zing!

Shows are set for 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 29, and Thursday, Dec. 30, and at 5 p.m. Dec. 31. An adult show is planned for 8 p.m.  Dec. 31, at the Bangor Opera House, Bangor Opera House, 131 Main St. in Bangor.

The opera house welcomes a cast of professional improvisers, all alumni of ImprovAcadia and the famed Second City, who will improvise a musical love story based on audience interviews.

The cast features familiar faces from ImprovAcadia including Bangor born Andy Bolduc. Bolduc has been touring with Second City since May 2018. He attended Bangor High School where he appeared in many high school productions. Rounding out the cast is Andrew Eninger, John Loos, Andel Sudik, Jen Shepard, and Larrance Fingerhut on piano.

Auld Lang Zing! will be performed in front of PTC’s beautiful new grand rag. The blue velvet curtain will provide an elegant backdrop for the evening’s comedic proceedings. Throughout the show the cast will ask volunteers from the audience questions about their own love story. They’ll be asked questions like — how did you meet? or, where did you go on your first date? The answers will be the basis for a fictional improvised rom-com complete with musical numbers!

Tickets cost $43.
