The first real snow of the season is here. Just a few inches, but it looks like it’s to stay. I’ve shoveled out all the areas that needed it, and it was quite pleasant out. No church for me, but Sondra did a Facebook session from her home. Now I’m in for the day.

It’s been a sad week for me. Sylvie took a turn for the worse on Friday, and stopped eating. I knew this was a bad sign, and I called and got an appointment for her on Saturday. Her condition was bad, and Dr. Stuer was very honest about the situation. He said she probably had lymphoma. So, I said goodbye to my sweet Sylvie and cuddled for awhile. Anyone who has had a pet understands the agony one just goes through at some point. I knew she was suffering and so I accepted her fate. I miss her so much!  Now Rosa is an only cat, and doesn’t seem to mind.

Sylvie was quirky, but she was definitely my cat. She would touch me with her paw when she wanted me to pet her, and could be quite demanding, but lovable all the same. She knew when the canned whipped cream came out and let me know she had to have some. I have wonderful memories and photos of her.

On Thursday, Chris Cole, Barb Russell, Lainey Cross and I met at Steam Mll Brewing for a late lunch. It was our first time in, and won’t be the last. I convinced the others to try the poutine, and they all liked it. I’ve been a fan for years, since Brian and I used to take trips to Canada. I’ve had some very good poutine in Canada, and it’s great to see so many places including it on their menus now. This one had beef on it, which was a new one for me. Great fries, too! I had a burger for my lunch, and it was delicious. I wish Scott and James all the best in this venture. I am sure they’ll do well. We also planned our arrival at their opening time of the day (2 p.m.), which was not as busy. By the time we left, it was starting to fill up. I highly recommend this place.

I ran into Vicky Myers at the post office this week. We had a brief visit, and it was good to see her. Genneth Berryment stopped in one morning, and delivered fudge and party mix (with  M&M’s). She stayed for awhile to visit and got caught up on what’s going on.

For the first time in my life, I sent out photo Christmas cards this year. On it is a photo of me with my grandsons, my daughters, and my sons-in-law. One comment I’ve heard a few times is that I am so short! It’s true, everyone towers over me, since I’ve shrunk to 5 foot 2 inches!  One grandson, Ben, is close to six feet tall, so I feel very short beside him!

A very Merry Christmas to you all, and a blessed holiday season.
