Joyce Bubier Poole
LEWISTON – Joyce A. Bubier Poole, 91, passed peacefully on Dec. 13, 2021, at d’Youville Pavilion with family holding her hands. She was born in Auburn on May 29, 1930, to Fernley and Eva (Reed) Bubier. She graduated from Edward Little High School class of 1947, continuing her education at the University of Maine with a Bachelors Degree in Education. On Nov. 3, 1951, she married Hazen G Poole and together they raised five great kids. Hazen passed in April, 1994. Joyce enjoyed being a teacher at Auburn Maine School of Commerce/Mid State Business College for over 20 years and 15 years at Lewiston High School retiring in 1995. Though she had expectations of her students, her dedication shined through assisting them to succeed. After retiring, she loved her traveling adventures by car, plane, train and cruise ship throughout the United States, Canada and Overseas. Joyce was a longtime member of Court Street Baptist Church in Auburn, and many years in Auburn Seniors.She is survived by her siblings; Richard Bubier and Shirley Hatch. Her children; Bruce Poole, Sherry Giberti, Debbie Sampson, Scott Poole and Deena Powers. Her grandchildren; Sarah, Thomas, Nicholas, Riley, Rebecca, Dillon, Amanda, Ariel and Alex. Her great-grandchildren; Tarren, Hailey, Amulet, Tao, Kai, Miles, Laney, Adeline, Zander, Amelia, Achilles, Adrian, Mia, Leo and Emily, with two arriving in 2022. You could always find her celebrating events with her family. She had the biggest smile and bright eyes when seeing her grandkids and great-grandkids. Her hugs were long and amazing and will be so missed. Funeral services honoring Joyce’s life will be celebrated on Saturday, Jan. 8, 2022, at 11 a.m., at the Pinette Dillingham & Lynch Funeral Home. Committal services will then follow at Gracelawn Memorial Park. A luncheon reception will follow at Court Street Baptist Church, Auburn. Visitation will be held on Friday, Jan. 7, 2022, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., at the Pinette Dillingham & Lynch Funeral Home 305 Alfred A. Plourde Parkway in Lewiston 784-4023.
