Joan Fedora (Samson) Colvin
LEWISTON – Joan Fedora (Samson) Colvin, Passed away Jan. 1, 2022, at home where she resided with family for the last three years.
Born Sept. 24, 1939, in Lewiston, Maine, she was the daughter of William and Lucille (Gagne) Samson. Educated in local schools she graduated from Edward Little High School in 1957.
Following high school, Joan worked as a secretary for most of her life. She especially enjoyed her time at Lewiston Middle School, working in assistant principal’s office, where she retired.
Joan married the love of her life, Robert Colvin on Aug. 16, 1958. Married for 59 years. Robert was in the Navy for 20 years. Together they traveled around the world, including Cyprus, Rome and Bermuda.
Joan enjoyed traveling with Robert, especially their many bus trips, including across the U.S., She loved watching the many birds while sitting on her porch, puzzles, collecting Hummel’s and treasured time spent with her family.
Joan was very proud of her grandchildren, following all of their extracurricular activities both from afar or in attendance. She especially enjoyed cheering for Jared and Jordyn at their games. They were proud to convert her to a Blue Devil Fan.
Joan is survived by her brother, Edward Samson of Lewiston, her son Charles and Sue Colvin of Gulf Breeze Florida, son Keith and his wife Margie of St. Augustine Florida, and daughter Jenny and her husband Paul Rubin of Lewiston, and her grandchildren Chelsea, Elizabeth, Michael Colvin, Jared and Jordyn Rubin.
Joan was predeceased by parents, William and Lucille (Gagne) Samson and her husband Robert Colvin.

A visitation will be held from 2-4 p.m., and 6-8 p.m., on Friday the 7th, with a mass at Holy Family Church on Saturday the 8th at 11 a.m., in care of the Fortin Group Lewiston, 70 Horton St.
