LOVELL — The Lovell Lions Club will hold the annual Norris Bennett Memorial Scholarship Fund Fishing Derby on Sunday, February 13th at Pleasant Point Rd., Pleasant Point, Center Lovell, ME. From 5:30 a.m.- 4 p.m.

For the Biggest Togue, from Kezar Lake only: Frist prize – $1,500, second – $500, third – $300, fourth and fifth – $100.

Age 15 and younger 1st Prize $100, 2nd -$50, 3rd – $20. Biggest “Any Fish”.

Kids’ Casting Contest is at 11:30 a.m., and there will be prizes for all.

All participants must register at the registration table at the Pleasant Point Town Beach, Pleasant Point Rd, Center Lovell, ME unless they have purchased a ticket in advance. The registration fee is $25.

All registrants are eligible for door prizes. Door prizes and the raffle prize will be announced during the awards ceremony at 4 p.m. The raffle prize consists of a 6×10 foot Sno-pro fishing shack with an estimated value of $4800. The cost of the ticket is $25 each or five for $100. Tickets may be purchased at the Lovell Hardware store Maine Street Lovell or by calling 207-928-9023.

The food booth’s menu includes breakfast sandwiches, hot dogs, hamburgers, chili, and more. There will be ample parking.

Money raised from the Derby will provide four $1,000 scholarships for Fryeburg Academy seniors. Additional funds will enable the Lions to provide assistance to families in need of medical or other unforeseen expenses.
