Oramell “Scrapper” Pratt
NORWAY – Oramell “Scrapper” Pratt, 77, of Norway, passed away on Jan. 2, 2022, in the Androscoggin Hospice House, after a brief illness. He was born May 13, 1944, in Norway. A son of the late Richard and Madeline (Murphy) Pratt. He attended South Paris High school and earned an Associate Degree from Bliss College.As a teenager he formed Scrapper Pratt’s Falcons and had a successful career playing at dances throughout Maine and New Hampshire. The band went on to record several records, including local hits Guitar man Struggle and Some Sweet Day. They were inducted into the Maine Music Hall of Fame and reunited briefly in the late 90’s. He later promoted concerts, ran the Lewiston raceway Summer Spectacular, and was General Sales Manager of Lee Oldsmobile Cadillac before opening his own business. In later years, he returned to Norway to manage the family rental property business, after the death of his father.He was predeceased by his parents Richard and Madeline Pratt, along with sister Beverly Kimball.He is survived by his sister Vira Micklon Along with several nieces, nephews and extended family.
