100 Years Ago: 1922

M.S. Hill, superintendent of the social service division of the Great Northern Paper Co., has a circuit of over 600 miles that he makes frequently visiting the various properties of the Great Northern, in the interests of hundreds of men employed. Talking machines are furnished at the most isolated camps as well as the permanent ones. Plenty of reading material is provided and it is arranged so at frequent intervals all of the employees working in the woods have an evening of up-to-date motion pictures.

50 Years Ago: 1972

Miss Ellen Cooper and Mrs. Frank Cooper will be in Boston Sunday and Miss Cooper will participate in the Winter Workshop being held by Dance Caravan, U.S.A, at the Statler-Hilton Hotel.

25 Years Ago: 1997

The Farmington-based Katahdin String Quartet will perform Friday at the University of Maine at Farmington. The quartet consists of James Kennedy on cello, Laurie Kennedy on viola, Nancy Beacham on violin and Robert Beacham on violin. The Kennedys live in Carthage; and the Beachams live in Farmington.
