Joyce R. Patenaude
MEXICO – Joyce R. Patenaude passed away peacefully at her daughter’s home in Saco on Jan. 4, 2022. She was born in Mexico on July 30, 1935, the daughter of John and Faith (Newhall) Woods. She was educated in the Mexico schools.
Joyce worked at Bass Shoe for several years before becoming a caretaker for people in their homes, a job she loved. She was a busy mom of 11 children. She enjoyed quilting, sewing and crocheting. She was a member of the Red Hat Society in Turner and enjoyed the time she spent with her lady friends. She was also a member of the Pythian Sisters.
She was predeceased by her son, Robert “Robby” Patneaude; and her brothers John, Wayne, Ronald, and Barry, and sister, Lyra Allard.
Joyce is survived by her children Wanda Merrill and husband Wilfred, Roland and wife Gloria, Kathleen Ronan and husband Dennis, Patricia Choroszy and husband Paul, Steven, Matthew and fiancé Doreen Stinson, Michael and wife Missy, Jeffery and wife Darla, Gregory and wife Tasha, and Joseph and fiancé Kathleen Dowdy; her brothers Doyle, Carrol, Leslie, and Mark; and sister, Tamar Brown; as well as many grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
A spring graveside service will be held at Farrington-Morton Cemetery on River Road, Mexico, the date and time will be announced. Dennett, Craig and Pate Funeral Home, Saco is respectfully handling the arrangements.
