DEAR SUN SPOTS: On Thursday, Jan. 6, I was driving in Lewiston on Pleasant Street from Webber Avenue and an item fell off the back of a white truck turning from Pleasant Street onto South Avenue. I picked up the item and was not able to find him by the time I got back into my car to catch up. Whoever thinks this could be them, please call me at 577-7424. — Leo, no town

ANSWER: You’re a good guy to try to find this person. I hope Sun Spots does its magic and puts you two in touch.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: I am writing to thank Ms. Sun Spots and Mary Ann, who called to let me know that Bull Moose would take my VHS and DVD tapes. Thank you again for doing such a good job with your question and answer column. — Jackie, no town

ANSWER: Bull Moose is a wonderful business that sells record albums, VHS tapes, CDs, DVDs, books, toys such as LEGOS, and more. They may not take everything you have, but they will give you either store credit (with bonus points) or cash. The company has stores in Lewiston, Brunswick and Portland, among others.

In the age of streaming entertainment, some of us still like physical modes of movie, music, video games, and literature.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: I would love to hear from any organization that would like used Christmas cards. They’re so beautiful that I just can’t throw them out. I have around 200. Any personal information has been removed. I would like to repurpose them to someone who would use them for arts and crafts. You can contact me at 241-8884. — No name, no town

ANSWER: What a great opportunity for a clever person who is into collage.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: I can always count on you. Knowing you love cooking healthy food, I was wondering if you would share titles to your favorite cookbooks. Also, would you happen to have a favorite vegan burger recipe with no soy or gluten? — No name, Lewiston

ANSWER: I have so many, but I absolutely love “The Oh She Glows Cookbookby Angela Liddon. There are three of them. Of course, you can get them online, but see if your local bookstore has them or can order them for you. They are super and everything is delicious. The library may have many good choices, too.

I make burgers from “The Oh She Glows Cookbook” that you can bake in a 350 degree oven.

Soak 3 tablespoons ground flax seed in 1/3 cup warm water for 5 minutes to thicken. In a large bowl, mash 1 (15-ounce) can drained, rinsed black beans. Mix in 1 cup shredded carrot or sweet potato, 1/3 cup chopped parsley or cilantro, 2 minced cloves of garlic, 1/2 cup chopped red or yellow onion, 1/2 cup toasted sunflower seeds, 3/4 cup gluten-free oat flour, 1/2 teaspoon olive oil, 2 tablespoons coconut aminos, 1 teaspoon each chili powder, oregano, cumin, and sea salt, and freshly ground pepper to taste.

Shape the mixture into eight patties and place on a parchment paper-lined baking sheet. Bake for 15 minutes then flip and bake 15 minutes more or until firm and golden. Enjoy!
