Oak Hill High School’s Drama Club, The Little Theatre in the Woods, plans to present the new musical, “The Addams Family,” at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Jan. 21 and 22 and at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 23, at the theater at 30 Academy St. Auburn.

This musical, with the book written by Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice, music and lyrics by Andrew Lippa, is a comedy that embraces the wackiness in every family, and features an original story and it’s every father’s nightmare: Wednesday Addams (played by Destiney Samare), the ultimate princess of darkness, has grown up and fallen in love with a sweet, smart young man, Lucas Beineke, (played by Samuel Bonner) from a respectable family — a man her parents have never met. And if that wasn’t upsetting enough, Wednesday confides in her father and begs him not to tell her mother.

Now, Gomez Addams (played by Dylan McFarland) must do something he’s never done before — keep a secret from his beloved wife, Morticia (played by Marissa Morgans). Everything will change for the whole family on the fateful night they host a dinner for Wednesday’s “normal” boyfriend and his parents.

Rounding out the cast are Marcus Gallagher as Uncle Fester, Abigail Frazier as Grandma, Nathan Fournier as Pugsley Addams, Memphis Murphy as Lurch, Joshua Bonner as Mal Beineke, and Lauren L’Heureux as Alice Beineke. The Addams family ancestors are played by Sarah Rossignol, Aaliyah Green, Marissa Smith, Julianna Langlois, Kaitlyn Daisey, Kassidy Pulk, Connor Robinson, Kadence Moulton, and Dakota Earley.

The director is Lucy Rioux and the musical direction is provided by Gary Fuller and Rebecca Caron. The technical director is David Maher and his crew includes Pauline Maloy, Maddox Fessenden, Amalie Hamilton, Kalana Sands, Leo Lovett, Al Bussiere, and Patience Kay. Costumes are designed by Lyn Swan.

Tickets cost $10 for adults and $6 for students and seniors.

Tickets must be reserved ahead of each performance as no tickets will be sold at the door. Masks will be required upon entering the high school and will need to be kept on during the performance. To make reservations, email Lucy Rioux at lucyrioux@gmail.com.
