Volunteer snow groomers Bruce Condit, left, Amos Woodward and Charlie Armstrong, all of Auburn, prepare grooming equipment Tuesday at the Auburn Nordic Ski Association network of trails. The snowfall on Martin Luther King Jr. Day was a warm welcome to cross country and snowmobile clubs across Maine. The Auburn Nordic Ski Association is a group of volunteers that maintain a network of cross-country ski and snowshoe trails off Perkins Ridge Road. The trails are home to the Edward Little High School and Auburn Middle School Nordic ski teams and provide a place Sunday afternoons for young children to learn how to ski. Daryn Slover/Sun Journal
