AUBURN — A local man was seriously injured Monday when he was struck while crossing Turner Street in front of the YMCA, Auburn Police Department Deputy Chief Tim Cougle said.
Andrew Aucella, 58, of Auburn, was in a marked crosswalk when he was hit by a vehicle driven by Sandra Holt, 80, of Poland. Holt was making a left turn from Great Falls Plaza onto Turner Street, Cougle said.
Aucella sustained serious head injuries and was taken to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston by Auburn Fire Department personnel. He was listed in stable condition, Cougle said.
The accident remains under investigation and no charges have been filed.
