Teresa A. St. Pierre

TOPSHAM – Teresa Ann St. Pierre, 95, of Topsham, died Thursday, January 20, 2022, in Topsham. Teresa was born July 23, 1926, in Auburn, Maine, the second of four daughters of Richard and Helen (Carlin) Walmsley. She grew up in New Auburn, and graduated from Edward Little High School in 1944. Before marriage, she worked several jobs in Lewiston, including at New England Telephone Co., Woolworth’s department store, and Glenwood Bakery.On January 10, 1948, she married Eugene A. St. Pierre, who spent his career at People’s Savings Bank, retiring as Chairman of the Board in 1985. Teresa and Gene were married 68 years. They raised three children.Teresa was a member of the former St. Patrick’s Church in Lewiston, and a member of the Woman’s Literary Union in Auburn. For years, she did volunteer work at St. Patrick’s Church, St. Joseph’s School, Lewiston Public Library, and St. Vincent de Paul’s Thrift Shop.Teresa loved cooking, reading, gardening, and traveling when the family was young.She is survived by her children, James St. Pierre and his partner, Jeffrey Pidot, of Brunswick; Lynn St. Pierre and her husband, Edward Cloutier, of Florida; her grandchildren, Jamien St. Pierre and his partner, Hanna Zetterstrand-Robinson, of Bar Harbor, and Jaaron Shaw and his wife, Lacaya Hoyt, of Readfield; her brother-in-law, Daniel Lalonde, of Lewiston, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.Teresa was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Eugene; her son, Jeffrey St. Pierre; her sisters, Mary Godin, Joan Walmsley and Janet Lalonde; her brothers-and-sisters-in-law, Wilfred Godin, of Auburn, E. Philip and Rita St. Pierre, of Lewiston, Raymond and Carmen St. Pierre, of Lewiston, Edward and Muriel (St. Pierre) Baylis, of Lewiston, Roger and Germaine St. Pierre, of Leesburg, Florida, and George and Sylvia (St. Pierre) Bernier, of Atlantic Beach, Florida.At her request, there will be no visiting hours. A Mass will be held at Sacred Heart Church in Auburn at a future date. Burial will be at the family plot at Mount Hope Cemetery in Lewiston, Maine.Arrangements by the Pinette Dillingham & Lynch Funeral Home 305 Alfred A. Plourde Parkway in Lewiston 784-4023.
