Reginald Allen Sweatt Sr.

GRAY – Reginald Allen Sweatt Sr., 82, of Gray, formerly of Norway, passed away at home on Jan. 18, 2022. He was born on March 10, 1939 in Carthage, Maine. He attended schools in Mexico and Rumford, graduating from Paris High School in 1959. He was in the Maine National Guard. He married Joyce Millett on June 6, 1964. Reggie worked in construction, and the modular home industry, becoming Plant Manager of Heritage Homes in 1972, Burlington Homes in 1974, and Keiser Homes in 1986. He also worked for Bancroft Contracting until his retirement in 1995. Previously, he was in Kiwanis, on the Board of Directors of Oxford Hills Chamber of Commerce,on the Corporate Board of Stephen’s Memorial Hospital and active in the Oxford Hills Athletic Booster’s. He was a member of the First Congregational Church in South Paris. Reggie was predeceased by his wife, Joyce, of 55 years, in 2019, and his parents, Erwin and Hazel Sweatt. He is survived by his daughter, Debra Johnson and her husband, Mike of Gray; Son, Reginald Jr, of South Portland; his grandchildren Michael Johnson and his wife, Madeline of Fort Bragg, N.C., Molly Johnson of Gorham, Matthew Johnson of Fort Bragg, N.C., Jake Sweatt and his wife, Katie of Georgia and Kadi Sweatt and her fiancée, Brandon Moffett of Sanford; great-grandchildren, Luke Johnson, Hunter and Cody Sweatt and Colson Moffett. He also is survived by his brother, Bruce Walker and his wife, Christina of Sanford and a sister, Charlotte Mullen and her husband, Bill of Lewiston and several special nephew’s and cousins. A celebration of life will be held at the First Congregational church in South Paris on February 12 at 1 p.m. Arrangements are with The Fortin Group, 70 Horton Street, Lewiston.
