William “Bill” Papsadora
PERU – Mr. William “Bill” Papsadora, 74, passed away Friday Jan. 21, 2022, at the South Bay Hospital in Sun City Center, Florida with his two sons by his side. He resided on the Gammon Road in Peru, Maine.Born in Rumford, Maine on Dec. 27, 1947, he was the son of Salvatore “Sam” and Mary “Annie” (Martin) Papsadora. Bill was a graduate of Mexico High School class of 67’ and retired from NewPage Paper Mill as an R15 Super Calender Operator in 2008. Bill was a communicant of the Parish of the Holy Savior, St. Athanasius – St. John’s Church a member and past commander of the VFW and also a member of the Elks, American Legion, Snowshoe Club, Sons of Italy, RAYHA, Oakdale Country Club and a 30+ year member of AA. He enjoyed his winters in Sun City Center, Florida. Bill was married in Mexico, Maine on July 1, 1967 to Charlene Quimby who passed in Peru, Maine on December 23, 2018. She truly was the light of his life and after her passing, he missed her dearly. He also loved the game of golf. Wherever he was, winter or summer, he would always find the local golf leagues. He played countless rounds and along the way made quite a few friends. And also, just like his Mom, he would try to pass on the game to his grandkids. It was always a thrill for him to be able to play a three-generation round!Survivors include two sons, Michael and his wife Kim of Rumford, Maine, William Jr. and companion Joanne Watson of Dedham, Maine, grandsons Matthew and wife Tracie, Trevor and partner Myles Roberson, Nathan, and Zach, great Grandsons Kaden and Cameron, brothers Frank Papasadora and companion Dawn Simmons of Largo, Florida, Thomas and wife Dottie of Scarborough, Maine, a sister Sandra Blanchette and husband Danny of Lisbon Falls, Maine. He was pre-deceased by his parents and brothers Timothy and Daniel Papsadora and a sister Judy Walker.Friends and family are invited to sign the online guest book and share memories with the family at http://www.meaderandson.com.A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m., Saturday February 12, 2022 at the Parish of The Holy Savior St Athanasius St John Church, 126 Maine Ave, Rumford. The Mass may be viewed via livestream at Facebook Parish of The Holy Savior or http://www.parishoftheholysavior.com Interment in the spring will be in the St John Cemetery in Rumford. Arrangements are under the direction of the Meader & Son Funeral Home 3 Franklin St., Rumford.
