Shirley B. Fox
WIDNHAM – Shirley B. Fox, 84, formerly of Sarasota, Fla. and Lewiston, passed away recently at Ledgewood Manor, Windham.
Born in Lewiston, the daughter of Beatrice King Roberge, and was raised by her loving foster parents, Albert and Marie Landry. She married Richard L. Fox in 1954. They were married for 51 years while raising a family.
Shirley graduated from Lewiston High School. She was employed as a switchboard operator, having been employed at Central Maine General Hospital, Answering Service of Maine and Maine Department of Health and Human Services.
She enjoyed the ocean and wintering in Florida with her husband and close friends. She also enjoyed traveling, bus excursions, reading and word search puzzles.
Survivors include her son, Richard F. Fox and his wife Patricia of Scarborough, daughter, Wendy Longley and her husband Daniel, of Old Orchard Beach; her three grandchildren, Cory Fox (Ali), Shawn Longley (Anna), Aly Fox (Nik); and her three great-grandchildren, Crosby, Leni and Penelope.
She was predeceased by her husband, Richard; her mother, her foster parents; and a special foster brother, Maurice Landry.
Shirley’s family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of Ledgewood Manor and Compassus Hospice.
There will be no services at this time and private burial will be held at a later date.
