FARMINGTON — Regional School Unit 9 Superintendent Chris Elkington announced Thursday that the district will close schools Friday due to the snowstorm expected to blanket the area.

He wrote that the region is anticipating “a significant amount of snow” Thursday night into Friday morning. Additionally, there are expectations “that the snow will not be easy to move making it harder for plows,” he wrote.

The National Weather Service anticipates Farmington will receive 12-20 inches of snow through Friday night.
