The Maine State Housing Authority has awarded $76,000 to Community Concepts to help the agency sell homes to low income buyers in Androscoggin and Oxford counties. Such mortgages allow buyers to make up the difference between the price of a home and what they can afford to borrow: The loan is deferred for 10 years and then is forgiven unless the individual sells the house. If the house is sold within 10 years, proceeds from the sale are used to repay Community Concepts for the loan.
