DEAR SUN SPOTS: Following the final closing of Luce Photography Studio in Farmington, an inventory of several thousands of envelopes with pictures, proofs and negatives were left. These date from the 1930s to the studio’s closing. They were distributed to area historical societies.

We, the Livermore/Livermore Falls Historical Society received over a thousand images belonging to people in the Livermore/Livermore Falls area. There are photos depicting graduation, wedding, family gatherings, children, job promotions and even pets. We would like to return them to their owners. These are precious mementos.

So far, we have returned over 700 images to their rightful owners. If you, or someone you know live or have ever lived in Livermore or the Livermore Falls area and had a photo done at Luce, we may have an envelope for you. To find out, please call 897-4695 or 897-5171. If there’s no answer, please leave your name and phone number and we will return your call. — Muriel, Livermore

ANSWER: Wow, what a project! It sounds fun though. Keep us posted on how it’s going.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: To the lady who purchased a casserole carrier and potholder set at the Excelsior Grange Craft Fair in Poland, one of the holders was dropped in the parking lot. We found it and have saved it for you. Please call 740-2741. — Cynthia, Poland

ANSWER: I hope she reads this and comes right over!

DEAR SUN SPOTS: A couple years ago a person was listed in Sun Spots as giving senior rates for snowblowing. Would you still have it in your files? — No name, no town

ANSWER: I’ve had this request for snow removal often. The issue is that sometimes people who have done the job in the past may not be doing it this season. I hope readers will respond with a recommendation or that someone with a snowblower might want to help you for a reasonable fee. For those who are interested in answering your request, it would be so helpful to know what town or neighborhood you live in.

It may be tough to get into someone’s schedule midseason, but I’m crossing my fingers that you’ll find the perfect person.

SeniorsPlus  (https://www.seniorsplus.org/, 795-4010) has a community resource list and they may have a listing for people who specifically help seniors with this chore.

If you belong to a church, club or other organizations put the word out to fellow members. I’m a firm believer in “asking the universe” for what I need and your idea to Sun Spots does just that! Mention to everyone you encounter that you are looking for someone to help you with this job, too.

I found a couple of landscape companies in Lewiston-Auburn who advertise snow removal services. They may only use plow trucks but it won’t hurt to try them.
