Jamey M. Ranta

LEWISTON – Jamey M. Ranta, 44, of Lewiston died at Central Maine Medical Center, with his loving family at his side, on Sunday Feb. 6, 2022.He was born in Dover Foxcroft on July 30, 1977, a son of James and Deborah (Bullock) Ranta. He was educated in Dover Foxcroft and graduated from Foxcroft Academy in 1995. He then went on to Eastern Maine Tech. and graduated with his degree in HVAC in 1998. Jamey worked his way through high school and college working at Moosehead Manufacturing in Monson where he made many friends and gained a strong work ethic”Shortly after graduation he joined Thayer Corp. in Auburn, Where he worked himself from an entry level tech to a service manager. Jamey also worked part time for Ed Buschmann, a close family friend. Jamey loved his jobs and never was afraid of a hard day’s work. Jamey’s true love was the former Elicia Maynard, they were high school sweethearts meeting in 1995 and married on May 17, 2008. Together they settled in Lewiston and started to raise their two children. Jamey loved time spent with family and loved to follow his two children in all their endeavors. He also enjoyed fast cars and loud trucks, going to concerts, snowmobiling, his wrestling and his beloved Red Sox. Jamey is survived by his wife, Elicia, and their two children Makenzie and Tyler all of Lewiston; his mother, Deborah Ranta of Greenville, his father, James Ranta of Monson; a sister, Leslie Ranta-Watt and her husband Craig of Greenville; his mother-in-law, Cherry Johnson and her husband David; a sister-in-law, Melanie Maynard and her fiancé Andy Levasseur, a brother-in-law, Israel Maynard; nieces and nephews John and Thomas Watt, Jaden and Reese Maynard, Abby, Emilie and Matthew Levasseur; a very close cousin, Billy Ranta and his wife Marilou; and several aunts uncles and cousins.He was predeceased by his father-in-law, Michael Maynard.On line condolences can be shared at http://www.thefortingroupauburn.comVisitation Fortin Auburn Wednesday Feb. 16, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral will be celebrated on Thursday 1 p.m., also at the funeral home.Arrangements are under the care of The Fortin Group Funeral Homes 217 Turner St., Auburn 783-8545.In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Jamey Ranta Scholarship fund to a Foxcroft Academy student attending college for HVAC/R, Electricalor Plumbing trades.Donations mailed to:1400 Hotel RoadSuite FAuburn, ME 04210
