OXFORD — A 40-year-old Norway man suffered a leg injury late Tuesday night when he was struck by a vehicle while crossing state Route 26 on his snowmobile.

Police said Lance Cook was riding on a trail and failed to stop when he reached Route 26, which is Main Street. His machine was then struck by a utility vehicle, police said.

Cook and his machine were pushed roughly 50 feet before the vehicles stopped, police said. He was taken to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston to be treated for an injury to his left leg.

The driver of the SUV, April Medynski, 35, of Norway, was not hurt.

The crash remained under investigation Wednesday.
