Camp North Woods is a week-long overnight camp for children ages 10-14 and is hosted by the University of Maine 4-H Camp and Learning Center at Bryant Pond. Campers receive instruction from and are mentored by staff from Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and wildlife and staff from Bryant Pond. The week is filled with hands-on experiences in rifle, shotgun, archery, map and compass, outdoor survival, canoe and kayak, boating safety, ATV safety, open water fishing, fly casting, and more!

Camp North Woods will be held Sunday, July 31 through Friday, August 5, 2022. Camp is co-ed and campers are separated into groups by age.

Because there are a limited number of spaces at camp North Woods, campers are selected through a chance lottery.The drawing will occur on March 15, 2022 and 80 campers (40 girls and 40 boys) will be selected. The cost to apply for a chance in the lottery is $10.

ALL entries will be contacted via email in regards to lottery results! Individuals not selected in the lottery process will automatically go on the alternate list and will be contacted if a slot opens up.

The registration fee to attend Camp North Woods is $650 and includes all meals, lodging, and instruction for the week.
Maine resident campers selected in the lottery will receive a scholarship in the amount of $300 from Maine Department of Inland Fisheries  and Wildlife (if they have not received a conservation scholarship in the past) reducing the registration fee to $350 for the week.

IMPORTANT:

Individuals who have attended Camp North Woods during ANY OTHER year may not apply for the lottery.
Campers must be 10 years of age before July 31, 2022 and no older than 14 years of age on August 5, 2022 to attend Camp North Woods.
