Let me guess: You sing in the car. Loudly. Off-key. Or you snore. Or you tell lousy jokes and then laugh at them yourself. Well, those things might make some dogs have second thoughts about coming to live with you, but not me. I, Travis, think I might love you already.

That’s because my heart is so enormous and my potential for devotion is practically bottomless and I just happen to be in the market for a new best friend right now. My perfect best friend may sing off-key but they will love me and take care of me and be patient and kind.

And they’ll make me feel safe while they show me new things in this big world. And they’ll get me on a predictable potty schedule which will make us both happy. I have so much love to give back. Isn’t that a fair trade?

I’m 11 months old and it’s not my fault I’m in this place they call a shelter. My brother and my sister are here, too. We’re all looking for new best friends. Responsible Pet Care of Oxford Hills is a no-kill, non-profit shelter and adoption center for cats and dogs, and the holding area for stray dogs for 12 towns in Oxford County. The shelter is located at 9 Swallow Road in Paris, and is open Friday, Saturday, and Sunday noon to 4 p.m. (Other days by appointment).

Responsible Pet Care operates a thrift shop called Pawsibilities. It is located at 132 Waterford Road in Norway and is open Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Donations of clean, usable household items are accepted during shop hours.
