The Wayne Community Church recently delivered a donation to the Capital Area New Mainers Project, a cross-cultural organization that welcomes immigrants and works to build a thriving, integrated community in central Maine, according to a news release from the church.
The amount of the donation was not disclosed.
Inspired by reports of its important work, the church earlier shared its Christmas offering with the organization to help further its support of newly-arriving immigrants needing assistance with acclimation, housing, language skills, school and employment.
The response and additional insights into the tremendous work being provided by the organization spurred an invitation to attend a worship service.
Pastor Angela Rotherham delivered a special “love your neighbor” offering from parishioners and the wider community to Chris Myers Asch, executive director, at the Valentine’s Day Weekend church service.
