Jacqueline M. Paquet
LEWISTON – Jacqueline “Jackie” M. Paquet, 92, of Lewiston, died early Monday morning, Feb. 28, 2022, at Central Maine Medical Center, surrounded by loving family. She was born in St. George de Beauce, P.Q. Canada on March 10, 1929, a daughter of Louis and Alexandrine (Thibodeau) Rodrigue. Jackie grew up in Canada and was educated in local schools.
On June 30, 1956 she married the love her life, Andréa “Andy” Paquet, in Canada. They moved to Lewiston to start a family. He predeceased her in 2005. In her early years, she stayed home to raise her two young sons and created a loving environment for her family.
In later years, she also worked in local shoe shops. Jackie was a member of the Basilica of Ss. Peter and Paul and was a faithful and devout Catholic with a deep love of her church. She was an excellent seamstress, generously offering her skills to repair or create anything the family needed. She enjoyed frequent visits from family and friends. In fact, the amusing anecdote within the family was that many relatives from Canada had a key to her house and knew they could drop in anytime and stay as long as they wanted.
Within the family, she was known for making her one-of-a-kind breakfasts, especially “Grandma pancakes” and “little potatoes”. Jackie was a loving, devoted and hard-working wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister who will be dearly missed.
She leaves behind her two sons, Raymond Paquet and wife Jane of Farmington, Conn. and Daniel Paquet and wife Faye of Lewiston; five grandchildren, Nicole P.
