WEST PARIS — Are we coming out of our hibernation? On many levels? There is a sense of hope in the air that being together in community serves to enhance. All are welcome to join in at the First Universalist Church of West Paris, Sundays at 9 a.m. For the present time, we are continuing to wear masks during the worship service, and still singing to the beautiful music of Tom Coolidge.

March 13, “Our Transcendentalist Roots” led by The Reverend Fayre Stephenson. When Transcendentalism was thriving in the 1800s in the Boston and Concord area, most Unitarians and Universalists were not Transcendentalists. And yet the Transcendentalists’ gift to our Unitarian Universalist faith is immense. Join us as we celebrate our Transcendentalist ancestors.

March 20, “Our Souls Speak Spring” led by The Reverend Fayre Stephenson. This Sunday is the day of the Vernal Equinox – the day before the first day of spring and a time to renew our faith. At this service, we will consider the ancient traditions that surround this joyous time when the northern hemisphere begins to tilt toward the sun.

March 27, “Sheep vs. Doves: The Spiritual Significance of Doors and Windows in Christianity” led by Jennifer Wixson. We’ve all heard it said: “When God closes a door, sHe opens a window.” What situations in our lives might call for the use of a door? A window? Jennifer explores the important difference between the two.
