Sam Stitz wasn’t about to let the Northern Cyclones take over the game’s momentum Saturday.

The Twin City Thunder forward scored the first of three goals to give the Thunder the lead back in what ended as a 4-2 Twin City home victory in the USPHL NCDC matchup at Saturday’s home-away-from-home Biddeford Ice Arena.

Caden Smith opened the scoring for the Thunder 1:54 into the second period, with Tristan Rand and Jack Anderson providing the assists.

With the win over the Cyclones, the Thunder clinched a postseason berth by assuring themselves a top-four finish in the North Division.

Will Woodruff tied the game for the Cyclones with his first goal of the season with 4:31 left in the middle frame.

Stitz scored 100 seconds later to give the Thunder a 2-1 lead. Lewiston native and former St. Dom’s standout Dom Chasse had the primary assist and Matt Cole provided the secondary helper.
