AUBURN — Monmouth Credit Union members voted March 15 to merge with Great Falls Regional Federal Credit Union.

Both have been staples in their respective communities since the early 1950s with their dedicated group of members, according to a Great Falls news release.

The merger will combine Great Falls’ 3,300 members with Monmouth’s 2,200 members, and will result in an organization with combined assets of about $60 million. The combined efforts of the credit unions will offer better services, improved rates, and new opportunities to their nearly 5,500 members across Androscoggin County and parts of Kennebec County.

The Monmouth branch will be called Monmouth Federal Credit Union, a branch of Great Falls Regional Federal Credit Union. A new name for the merged credit unions may be determined later.

Great Falls Regional Federal Credit Union will serve 5,500 members across its three branches in Lewiston, Auburn and Monmouth.
