Boston’s captain Patrice Bergeron was scratched for Wednesday’s game against the Wild in St. Paul, Minnesota, and will also miss at least Friday’s game in Winnipeg after an arm injury “re-emerged,” presenting a risk of infection, said Coach Bruce Cassidy.

Bergeron, who had missed time in January after falling and suffering a head laceration in a game against Pittsburgh, returned to Boston to get looked after. The Bruins are scheduled to come home after the Winnipeg game before going back out on the road for a game in Montreal on Monday.

Cassidy said that Bergeron, who had taken a maintenance day on Monday before playing in Chicago and scoring a goal in a 2-1 overtime win on Tuesday, originally suffered the injury in practice sometime.

“We’re just trying to be cautious about it at the end of the day. We don’t want anything to come of it,” said Cassidy.
