PARIS — The Oxford County Commission on Wednesday reviewed a request for a proposal to demolish the former Barbara West Income Tax Service building at 22 Western Ave. next to the county building.

The request will allow the commission to seek bids to raze the building, which is next to the Sheriff’s Office and courthouse.

Commissioners also accepted the wording of a request for a proposal to upgrade the phone system in all departments.

In other business, the commission accepted the forfeiture of $775.60 for the Sheriff’s Office, which assisted in a criminal investigation.

In personnel matters, commissioners promoted Rosemarie Burns and Travis Witham to corporal in the corrections division. The board also accepted the resignation of Brandon Tiner as a deputy for the Sheriff’s Office.

Commissioners met briefly in executive session to discuss contract negotiations with the union.
